My Focus
My focus will remain on the Environment. Our tourist economy, our lifestyles and our planet depend on it.

"We're a small town, but we live as a microscope for the rest of the world. They're watching what we're doing."
- RUTHIE BROWN
"I hope we continue the good policies to protect this valley and that it not be taken over by people who don't live here. It's a beautiful place with a great community and I hope we can protect that."
- JOHN MCBRIDE
"John Doyle will represent the real Aspen values with intelligence, respect and environmental stewardship. He is someone who will study the issues and make informed decisions."
- PIERRE WILLE
Aspen native, owner/operator Tyrolean Lodge
"John Doyle represents and is dedicated to what I value most about Aspen. Wild places, adventure, creativity, reverence for beauty and a deep sense of the history and meaning of this place. Defending and promoting those qualities in the face of the pressures of growth is essential to ensuring the Aspen we love."

BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS
For the last 4 years I have served on:
•CAST (Colorado Association of Ski Towns)
•CORE (Community Office of Resource Efficiency)
•CML (Colorado Municipal League)
•Aspen Snowmass Nordic Council
I volunteered for 3 more boards after our last election 2 years ago when our two newest council persons declined to serve:
• Pitkin County Board of Health
•RWAPA (Ruedi Water and Power Authority)
• APCHA (Aspen Pitkin County Housing Authority)
I want to preserve Aspen's small town character, but more importantly, Aspen‘s community. It's the reason we all moved here; it's the reason we are successful as a resort. As a community representative, I believe it is my job to think long term about what is best for Aspen and our future.
In the 40+ years I’ve called Aspen home, we have lost 30 days of winter. Over the next 40, we are projected to lose at least that many more. Also during the last 40 years, the Roaring Fork Valley’s population has more than doubled. People will continue to move here as climate refugees, escaping the heat from other places.
Over the next 4 years, my overriding goal will be to help Aspen become more resilient in the face of increasing temperatures and a growing population.
Affordable housing: As the conversion of residential rentals into second homes, investment vehicles and vacation rentals continues, we will continue to need more housing to replace these losses. Housing remains one of the most critical issues facing us locally and regionally.
I have lived In Aspen full time since 1982. My daughter Sylvan attends Aspen High School.
My first job in Aspen was clearing ski trails at Aspen Highlands. I have built skis for Phoenix Skis, worked for over ten years in the local restaurant industry (The Sundeck, Arthur’s Chinese Restaurant, The Ullrhof, The Snowmass Club, Gwyn’s High Alpine and the Pine Creek Cookhouse), driven snowcats for the Aspen Mountain Powder Tours, worked in the SkiCo's recycling program as well as worked in construction and property management. I also carve wood part time, carving many totem poles and statuary from the same studio in Aspen’s West End since 1989.
I have always been and continue to be passionate about skiing; I find a lot of joy in the backcountry especially.
